The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), in partnership with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC), has introduced a mobile application called Raahguzar to enhance transparency in Pakistan’s oil supply chain.
Powered by Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, the app allows users to locate licensed petrol pumps and outlets nationwide. This initiative marks a key step toward digitalizing the petroleum distribution network.
The launch event, held at Ogra’s headquarters in Islamabad, was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), FBR, Customs, the Explosives Department, OCAC, and the Oil Marketing Association of Pakistan.
The Raahguzar app provides a user-friendly platform for consumers, local authorities, and law enforcement agencies to identify unregistered fuel outlets. It also enables users to report concerns regarding unauthorized stations, pricing issues, or fuel quality, fostering greater accountability in the sector.
Ogra Chairman Masroor Khan, along with key officials, highlighted the importance of digital solutions in streamlining the industry. Khan stated that the project began with discussions between Ogra and FBR in August 2024, emphasizing the need for supply chain transparency. The app’s launch represents the first phase of a broader track-and-trace system designed to enhance regulatory oversight, prevent financial losses, and support the integrity of the petroleum industry.
