On the afternoon of July 7, the China–Ghana Emerging Industries Trade and Investment Matchmaking Conference, co-hosted by the Foreign Trade Development Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), was successfully held at the Palm International Conference Centre in Accra.
The event featured opening remarks from Li Yaohong, Commercial Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Ghana, and Ms. Afua Tekyi-Mills, Director of Marketing and Communications at the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
Centered on the theme, “Driving Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy,” the conference brought together more than 200 representatives from over 100 enterprises across China, Ghana, and the wider West African region, fostering dialogue and collaboration in emerging industries.
A key highlight of the conference was two expert roundtable forums focused on Infrastructure Financing and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Models and Energy Systems and Renewable Energy Integration. Specialists from research institutions, industry associations, and financial organizations shared valuable insights and explored opportunities to strengthen China–Ghana industrial cooperation.
The event concluded with dynamic B2B matchmaking sessions, where participating companies engaged in targeted discussions across strategic sectors, including new energy vehicles, energy storage technologies, and smart home appliances. The sessions generated promising business connections and laid the foundation for future partnerships.
By creating new avenues for collaboration between Chinese and Ghanaian enterprises, the conference reinforced its role as an effective platform for advancing Chinese emerging industries internationally while supporting Ghana’s efforts to maximize the value of its domestic resources and accelerate sustainable economic growth.
