Eve Air Mobility, an international electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturer and services provider, has received a $50 million loan from Citibank N.A. This funding will support the company’s aircraft research and development initiatives and reinforce its financial stability.
With the addition of this loan, Eve’s liquidity now totals approximately $480 million, factoring in the $95.6 million in equity financing it secured from global industrial companies and financial investors in July 2024. In a related development, Eve recently arranged an $88 million credit line with Brazil’s National Development Bank (BNDES) to help fund its new production facility in Taubaté, São Paulo, Brazil.
Eve’s CFO, Eduardo Couto, commented on the milestone, noting that the loan signifies strong investor confidence in the company’s strategic direction, eVTOL technology, and operational solutions, as well as its Vector urban air traffic management software. “This funding, along with existing resources, positions Eve with a comfortable financial runway in the advanced air mobility (AAM) sector as we progress in eVTOL development and manufacturing,” Couto said.
As a leader in AAM, Eve holds pre-orders and letters of intent for 2,900 eVTOL aircraft and collaborates with a broad network of suppliers and development partners. The company, backed by Embraer, the world’s third-largest aircraft manufacturer, designed its eVTOL with eight propellers dedicated to vertical lift and fixed wings for efficient cruising. This design aims to enhance performance, safety, and noise reduction while optimizing operational costs.
Eve introduced its full-scale eVTOL prototype at the Farnborough Air Show this past summer. The aircraft is moving toward a rigorous test campaign while Eve also develops a portfolio of agnostic services and operational solutions, including its Vector software for managing urban air mobility on a global scale.
