ASEAN and Brazil are exploring opportunities to deepen trade and investment cooperation, supporting stronger connections between businesses and supply chains across Southeast Asia and South America.
During a working visit to Brasilia on August 19, 2026, the Secretary General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, met with the President of Brazil’s trade and investment promotion agency, Laudemir André Müller.
The discussion covered recent economic and investment developments in both regions, with a focus on opportunities to enhance trade and investment relations.
Stronger cooperation between ASEAN and Brazil could create additional opportunities for sourcing, market access, investment and cross regional business partnerships. Greater connectivity between the two regions can also support more diversified supply networks and expand trade links between emerging markets.
The engagement highlights the growing importance of international partnerships in building resilient and interconnected global supply chains.
