Vietnam continued to be the largest manufacturing source for Adidas in 2024, contributing 27% of the global product volume for the German sportswear company, an increase from 26% in 2023.
According to Adidas’ 2024 performance report, other key production markets included Indonesia, which accounted for 19% of total volume, and China, contributing 16%. Overall, 92% of Adidas products were manufactured in Asia, up from 90% in the previous year.
Vietnam was the top producer of Adidas footwear, responsible for 39% of total output, followed by Indonesia at 32% and China at 14%. In apparel manufacturing, Vietnam ranked second with 18% of total production, behind Cambodia at 23%, while China was third with 16%.
For accessories and gear, Adidas identified Turkey, China, and Pakistan as the leading manufacturers, accounting for 26%, 23%, and 21% of total volume, respectively.
The company reported net sales of €23.68 billion ($25.66 billion) in 2024, marking an 11% year-on-year increase. Operating profit saw a significant rise of 398%, reaching €1.34 billion. Footwear remained the dominant category in sales, comprising 59% of total revenue, followed by apparel at 35% and accessories and gear at 6%.
Vietnam also remained a key labor hub for Adidas, with 15 factories employing 104,466 workers as per 2023 data collected in 2024. The company noted that wages in Vietnam exceeded the country’s minimum wage requirements by 73-84%.
Other major Adidas production centers included Indonesia, which had nine factories with 96,698 workers, Cambodia with eight factories and 39,152 workers, and China with 13 factories employing 31,755 workers.
