Ameba, a London-based AI startup specializing in supply chain insights software, has successfully raised £5.3 million ($7.1 million) in a seed funding round. Founded in 2023, the West London startup has created an AI platform designed to automate the extraction of data from supply chains, providing valuable insights into the sourcing and status of products.
“Brands today face significant pressure to adapt to rapid shifts in consumer trends while meeting expectations for fast, cost-effective, and sustainable supply chains,” stated Cedrik Hoffmann, co-founder and CEO of Ameba. He noted that many prominent fashion brands currently manage their supply chain data using traditional methods like Excel and communicate with suppliers through platforms such as email or WhatsApp.
“We aim to transform our customers’ operations while aligning with their current practices. With Ameba, we are turning supply chains from bottlenecks into engines of growth,” Hoffmann added. The funding round was led by Hedosophia, with additional support from Anamcara and existing investor Visionaries Club.
Isabella Yamamoto, principal at Visionaries Club, commented, “We have observed significant challenges in supply chains across all industries, as organizations navigate increasing complexity and fragmentation within their supplier networks. After discussions with numerous supply chain owners, we became confident that Cedrik and Craig possess the experience to build a disruptive business using AI to address fragmentation in supply chains and provide brands with a competitive edge.”
