Hanoi, Vietnam – Vietnam is participating in the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is being held as part of the 2024 National Trade Promotion Program. The event, taking place over six days, features a dedicated Vietnamese national pavilion designed to highlight the country’s economic achievements while promoting investment, trade, and tourism.
Among the items showcased at the Vietnamese booths are a variety of food and processed agricultural products from leading local brands, such as TH True Milk, Trung Nguyen Coffee, Ben Tre Import-Export Joint Stock Company, Visimex Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Pepper Joint Stock Company, and Vietnam Agricultural and Foodstuff Import-Export Joint Stock Company.
The participation of Vietnamese businesses at the annual expo is a significant step in enhancing the country’s profile in the global marketplace. It also provides a platform for expanding sustainable exports to China through official trade channels and fosters opportunities for further foreign investment.
This initiative aligns with Vietnam’s broader goals of strengthening its trade relations and promoting its domestic brands to international markets. According to data from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the country’s import-export turnover with China reached US$149.2 billion in the first nine months of 2024, reflecting a 21.9% increase compared to the same period last year. Vietnam’s exports to China grew by 2.9% year-on-year, totaling US$44.4 billion, while imports from China saw a larger rise, increasing by 32.2% to US$104.8 billion.
