The United States and Uzbekistan have reached a trade and economic agreement, President Donald Trump announced on Thursday.
Under the deal, Uzbekistan is expected to invest and purchase $35 billion in U.S. sectors over the next three years, with plans to exceed $100 billion over the next decade. The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral economic ties and expand opportunities for trade and investment between the two countries.
The announcement was made during a meeting with Central Asian leaders, including the presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan, alongside Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Officials said the agreement will focus on strategic sectors and provide a framework for sustained economic collaboration, promoting market access and investment opportunities for businesses in both countries.
