South Korea and US Strengthen Economic and Security Coordination

South Korea and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to close communication and cooperation on issues affecting the Korean Peninsula, while also discussing trade, investment and broader bilateral priorities.

South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio agreed to maintain coordination on the North Korean nuclear issue and support efforts toward peace and dialogue on the peninsula.

China and South Korea Talks Set to Support Regional Trade Cooperation

The discussions also covered several areas relevant to economic and supply chain planning, including tariffs, investment and regional security cooperation. Both sides agreed to work toward mutually beneficial outcomes on outstanding bilateral matters.

For international trade and supply networks, continued coordination between the two economies can support greater predictability for businesses operating across Asia-Pacific markets. Cooperation on investment and trade policies also remains important for strengthening economic connections between South Korea and the United States.

The two officials are expected to meet in person in the near future for more detailed discussions on key bilateral issues.
