Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) is making great progress in its efforts to be more sustainable by using trains for 26% of its vehicle deliveries within India in 2024. This switch has helped to cut down carbon dioxide emissions by 18,352 tonnes. Notably, the company has delivered all vehicles to the North-East region by rail, showing its commitment to environmentally friendly methods. Since 2021, Hyundai has sent over half a million vehicles by train, which has avoided more than 63,000 tonnes of carbon emissions. As India updates its railway system, HMIL plans to use rail transportation even more to streamline its supply chain and contribute to the country’s sustainability goals.
