John K Philips Group has relocated to a new 135,000 square foot warehouse and office building at Europa Boulevard in Warrington, marking a significant milestone as the company celebrates 50 years in business. The new headquarters, named Solar 120, is noted for its sustainability features and has achieved an ‘excellent’ BREEAM rating.
The facility, formerly a BT call center, has been extensively renovated by CBRE Investment Management and was named Building of the Year at the National Sustainability Awards in 2023. The eco-friendly site is equipped with solar panels, LED lighting, heat pumps, and electric forklift trucks, enabling John K Philips to offer carbon-neutral warehousing solutions to its clients.
Founded in 1974, John K Philips Group began with a single truck for paint delivery and has since grown to employ 80 staff with a fleet of 35 trucks and 32 trailers. The company specializes in the storage and distribution of goods, including paint and specialist liquids for pharmaceuticals and healthcare sectors. All drivers are trained to handle specialist freight.
Managing Director Alan Simpson, who joined the company in 2019, commented on the move, “Our new headquarters provides us with additional storage capacity and supports our growth plans. We are committed to expanding steadily and see our new location as a strategic advantage due to its proximity to the motorway network.”
John K Philips is a member of the Palletforce express distribution network, which facilitates cost-effective and sustainable overnight delivery across the UK and Europe. The company continues to invest in electric vehicles and technology to enhance efficiency and productivity while maintaining its focus on sustainability.
