Casablanca — German companies announced a new wave of investment plans in Morocco during a press conference hosted by the German Embassy and AHK Maroc, with projects spanning logistics, pharmaceuticals, automotive wiring, software, and artificial intelligence. The developments highlight expanding German corporate interest in Morocco, with logistics infrastructure emerging as a key focus alongside manufacturing and technology investments.

In logistics, DACHSER confirmed the expansion of its Tangier operations through a new large-scale facility designed to strengthen supply chain services linked to the port and the northern industrial ecosystem. The investment is expected to enhance connectivity for export-oriented industries and support trade flows serving both European and African markets. The move further reinforces Tangier’s role as a strategic logistics gateway supporting manufacturing, distribution, and regional trade activity.

Bayer announced the launch of a new production line at its Nouaceur facility. The additional capacity is expected to expand the company’s pharmaceutical footprint in Morocco while supporting regional demand. The development aligns with Morocco’s efforts to position itself as a healthcare and life sciences base, with increased local production aimed at strengthening supply availability and improving manufacturing resilience.

Automotive supplier LEONI said it plans to create 3,000 additional jobs in Morocco, driven by demand for wiring systems and cable solutions. The expansion reflects evolving automotive supply chains and growing requirements tied to electric mobility. The hiring plan further supports Morocco’s role in nearshoring strategies, where companies seek production locations closer to key markets while maintaining operational efficiency.

Energie Noire announced plans to establish software and artificial intelligence hubs in Casablanca and Khouribga. The initiative marks diversification beyond traditional industrial investment, highlighting Morocco’s growing appeal for digital engineering, software development, and AI-related activities. The new hubs are expected to support higher-value services and contribute to the country’s expanding technology ecosystem.

Taken together, the projects indicate broadening German investment across logistics, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and advanced technology sectors. AHK Maroc Director General Katharina Felgenhauer noted that an ongoing study involving additional German companies is assessing broader investment appetite and expansion plans in Morocco, with results expected at a future press conference.

German Ambassador Robert Dölger said the announcements reflect strong bilateral economic ties and Morocco’s attractiveness as a platform for companies seeking regional access, skilled talent, and operational proximity. The latest developments may signal continued growth in logistics-driven investment alongside expansion in industrial and technology sectors.
