Vietnam and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China are strengthening economic and trade links as part of ongoing efforts to expand investment, promote bilateral commerce and support supply‑chain integration between the two neighbours. The push was highlighted at the Vietnam–China (Guangxi) Trade, Investment Promotion, and Business Connection Conference held in Hanoi on November 26, where government and business leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deeper commercial engagement.
At the event, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) reiterated its readiness to welcome more enterprises from Guangxi and broader Chinese markets to explore investment opportunities in areas such as high‑technology, green transition initiatives, environmentally friendly solutions and digital transformation — sectors that align with Vietnam’s broader economic strategies and regional supply‑chain development goals.
Officials from both sides emphasised the importance of economic and trade cooperation as a pillar of bilateral relations, noting that collaboration with Guangxi — a key gateway for China’s trade with Southeast Asia — can help boost cross‑border commerce, attract foreign direct investment, and create commercial synergies across industries. Vietnam has been one of Guangxi’s most significant trading partners, with substantial trade flows and longstanding economic ties that support both export‑oriented manufacturing and regional logistics linkages.
The talks and promotional activities also fit into broader efforts to enhance transport connectivity and logistical integration between China and Vietnam — including cross‑border railway links, smart border processing infrastructure and joint trade facilitation mechanisms — which have been shown to reduce transit times and improve cargo flows across land and maritime supply chains.
For Vietnamese and Chinese businesses alike, enhanced trade promotion and cooperation with regions such as Guangxi can help develop new market opportunities, expand export sectors and strengthen logistics‑led growth while supporting broader regional economic integration in Southeast Asia.
