Hain Celestial has opened its fourth U.S. distribution center in Savannah, Georgia, doubling its network capacity. The new facility is expected to improve transit times by 15% and reduce delivery route miles by approximately 66%, according to the company’s announcement on February 4.
The opening marks the completion of a multi-year distribution transformation project that began in September 2023. Along with the new Georgia location, Hain Celestial now operates distribution centers in Perris, California; Allentown, Pennsylvania; and Chicago, the latter of which opened in December.
The company, known for brands like Terra chips and Garden Veggie Snacks, operates all four facilities in partnership with a third-party logistics company. The expanded distribution network is designed to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce resupply times to key markets.
Hain Celestial expects the new facility to contribute to significant cost savings through reduced fuel and maintenance expenses, though the exact savings have yet to be quantified. The company’s ongoing transformation plan, known as “Hain Reimagined,” aims to improve profitability by streamlining operations and reducing costs.
Since July 2023, Hain has cut 6% of its SKUs globally and consolidated its manufacturing footprint as part of this initiative. The expansion of its U.S. distribution network aligns with the company’s strategic goals to improve operational efficiency and strengthen its supply chain.
