India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in partnership with the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), has launched the second edition of the Cyber Security Grand Challenge (CSGC 2.0) to boost the nation’s cybersecurity landscape. With a prize pool of ₹6.85 crore (approx. US$825,000), this challenge seeks solutions for six critical cybersecurity areas: API Security, Data Protection, Wearable Device Privacy, and more.
The initiative supports India’s goals of technological self-reliance and digital sovereignty by encouraging startups to address cybersecurity threats with homegrown solutions. Participants retain intellectual property rights to their innovations, fueling further development and commercialization.
Structured in four stages, CSGC 2.0 provides financial support at each level to encourage innovation. The top three winners will receive substantial rewards, positioning India as a global leader in cybersecurity innovation. Government leaders emphasize collaboration with academia and industry to create scalable, practical solutions to future digital security challenges.
The challenge highlights India’s increasing role in shaping cybersecurity advancements, bolstering its position as a global hub for digital protection.
