IRIS Lines, the shipping division of Royal Cargo, has launched a pioneering smart container initiative in collaboration with Loginno, a leading provider of smart container technology. This marks a significant advancement in domestic container shipping within the country.
The new smart container services are expected to transform shipping management in the Philippines by enhancing operational efficiency, reducing delays, and improving service quality. With this technology, IRIS Lines aims to offer clients greater visibility and security for their shipments.

The pilot project is part of Loginno’s “The Contopia Factor 3” (TCF3) initiative, which seeks to develop a smart container data infrastructure in two phases. The first phase focuses on providing visibility to shipping companies and their clients, while the second phase aims to integrate with governmental systems, port operations, cargo insurance, and customs.
The initiative is supported by the Israeli Trade Office in the Philippines and the Department of Transportation (DOTr), highlighting a collaborative effort to advance logistics and transportation through technology.
On August 8, IRIS Lines commenced its smart container project by dispatching two 40-foot dry containers from Manila to Cagayan de Oro aboard the vessel MV IRIS Paoay V.418S. This development is anticipated to set a new standard in maritime transport, potentially influencing the region’s shipping practices.
