OMRON and NEURA Robotics Collaborate to Introduce New Cognitive Robot at Automate 2024

OMRON, a prominent figure in industrial automation solutions, and Neura Robotics GmbH, known for its advancements in cognitive robotics, have announced a collaborative effort to introduce cutting-edge AI-driven cognitive automation technologies aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency. The outcome of this partnership will be showcased at the forthcoming Automate trade show in Chicago from May 6-9, where the companies will unveil the new OMRON intelligent Cognitive Robot (iCR) series.

Derived from NEURA Robotics‘ MAiRA line, the OMRON iCR series incorporates integrated sensors and AI technologies to cater to the requirements of industrial clients seeking enhanced flexibility, productivity, and efficiency. Notable features include an optional integrated 3D vision sensor, a user-friendly interface, and NEURA’s advanced safety architecture to ensure improved performance and safety.

The potential of the new robot will be demonstrated at Automate through a 3D bin-picking demonstration, showcasing how AI-enabled cognitive automation can augment manufacturing processes’ efficiency and flexibility. Additionally, the integration of OMRON‘s all-in-one Sysmac control platform will be highlighted, emphasizing its capability to streamline complex operations.

David Reger, founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics, remarked on the collaboration, noting its significance in advancing industrial automation. He highlighted the removal of usage barriers and the expansion of possible applications for robotics in automation, enabling autonomous action, safe recognition of people, and anticipation of their actions. Reger emphasized the company’s commitment to shaping the future of manufacturing globally through the iCR series.

Olivier Welker, president and CEO of Omron Robotics and Safety Technologies Inc., expressed his excitement about the partnership with NEURA, affirming OMRON’s dedication to innovation in industrial automation. He expressed confidence in delivering state-of-the-art solutions to meet evolving customer needs, further solidifying OMRON’s position as an industry leader in automation.

Omron and NEURA Robotics extend an invitation to all Automate attendees to engage with their technologies, share insights, and explore the potential of automation in their manufacturing environments.
