Under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Vietnam Logistics Summit 2024 will convene on October 31 at 8:30 AM at the JW Marriott Saigon Hotel. The event will be streamed on Facebook, YouTube, and the online platforms of the Vietnam Investment Review.
With its growth trajectory, Vietnam’s logistics industry plays a pivotal role in the nation’s global economic integration, enhancing the international competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses. However, alongside these opportunities, the sector faces significant challenges, particularly in digital transformation and adapting to rapid technological advancements. Industry leaders emphasize the importance of modernizing infrastructure, improving supply chain management, and adopting emerging trends to maintain a competitive edge.
Topics at the summit will include confronting new challenges and opportunities, where experts will discuss how trends like climate change, global trade dynamics, and economic shifts are affecting logistics. Panels will explore changes in trade flows, adjustments to supply chains, and evolving customer demands in a competitive global market.
The summit will also address logistics infrastructure, analyzing the current state of seaports, airports, road networks, and warehousing systems. Discussions will focus on existing constraints and the need for expansion to meet rising industry demands. To address sustainability, the event will explore the development of green supply chains, including strategies to optimize flexibility, resilience, and environmental responsibility. This includes diversification of supply sources, establishment of regional distribution centers, and practices to reduce carbon emissions and incorporate renewable energy into logistics.
In addition to discussions, the summit will offer networking opportunities, along with showcases of new logistics technologies and solutions. A site tour, organized by VIR and Dong Tam Group, will also take place on November 1, allowing participants to view Long An International Port’s warehouse and factory models.
