Vietnam is exploring a new industrial, logistics, and port complex in Hai Phong and neighboring Hung Yen to strengthen construction-material supply and support the country’s expanding infrastructure needs.
The proposed development would cover around 800 hectares in the Lach Huyen port area and include storage, handling, transport, and logistics facilities. A key focus would be the processing and distribution of marine sand as an additional source of construction material.
The project could create a more coordinated network for receiving, storing, and distributing materials, helping improve supply reliability as demand for infrastructure projects increases and traditional river-sand supplies face greater constraints.
A second hub is also being studied around the Diem Dien port area in Hung Yen. Together, the two locations could strengthen connectivity between offshore material sources, ports, industrial areas, and construction markets.
The development would be carried out in phases, beginning with material-handling infrastructure before expanding into broader port, industrial, and logistics facilities.
If approved, the project could support stronger logistics capacity, more diversified material supply, and continued infrastructure development in northern Vietnam.
