Vietnam is accelerating the use of artificial intelligence in legal and public-sector services, showcasing production-scale digital platforms at the ASEAN Law Forum 2026 in Hanoi.
AI-powered systems supporting legal databases, law portals, document drafting, and government services have already processed more than 170,000 legal documents, while a government virtual assistant handled 500,000 documents in its first month of pilot operations.
The developments highlight Vietnam’s growing focus on AI-driven public services, digital governance, and automated document management, while creating opportunities for broader technology cooperation across ASEAN.
The shift toward production-ready AI also demonstrates how governments can use advanced technology to improve access to information, administrative efficiency, regulatory processes, and digital service delivery.
As ASEAN economies strengthen their digital infrastructure, AI adoption in government could become an important driver of regional innovation, interoperability, and more efficient cross-border digital ecosystems.
