U.S., Mexico, and Canada Advance Agricultural Supply Chain Cooperation

in Agriculture and Food Trade

Energy trade between the United States and Canada continued to highlight the strength of their integrated supply chain in 2025, with total bilateral energy trade reaching an estimated $137 billion. While lower global energy prices influenced overall trade value, the long standing partnership remained supported by established infrastructure and reliable cross border energy flows.

Crude oil remained the largest component of bilateral energy trade, underscoring the importance of pipeline connectivity and integrated refining operations. Canada continued to be the leading source of U.S. crude oil imports, while U.S. exports complemented regional energy requirements and supported a balanced energy network.

Petroleum product trade also reflected the resilience of the North American supply chain. The consistent movement of refined fuels across the border helped support manufacturing, transportation, and industrial operations, reinforcing the value of efficient logistics and coordinated distribution.

Continued investment in infrastructure and expanded export routes is strengthening supply chain connectivity, supporting long term energy security, operational efficiency, and economic cooperation across North America.
