A new agricultural initiative in northwest Syria is helping restore local wheat supply chains by supporting farmers returning to their communities and improving access to essential farming resources.
The project aims to assist more than 1,000 farmers across key wheat producing areas by reducing production challenges, restoring agricultural activity, and strengthening local food security. Many participating farmers were previously displaced and are now working to rebuild their livelihoods through renewed agricultural production.
The initiative provides support for harvesting activities while also improving access to wheat seeds and fertilizers to help farmers continue cultivation in future seasons. By addressing key supply chain challenges at the production level, the program seeks to increase local wheat output, improve resilience, and reduce barriers that limit agricultural recovery.
Strengthening local agricultural supply chains plays an important role in improving food availability and supporting long term economic recovery. By empowering farmers and enhancing access to resources, the initiative contributes to a more sustainable and resilient food supply network for communities across northwest Syria.
