Scotland Strengthens Feed Supply Chain with Expanded Port Capacity

in Logistics & Transportation

Scotland is strengthening its agricultural logistics network with expanded storage and berthing capacity at the Port of Greenock, improving the flow of imported feed ingredients across the region.

The new facility complements existing operations at Glasgow’s King George V Dock, creating a more connected logistics network along the River Clyde. The additional capacity will support higher cargo volumes while giving suppliers greater flexibility in importing, storing, and distributing feed materials.

The expansion comes as demand for imported feed ingredients continues to evolve, highlighting the importance of reliable port infrastructure for Scotland’s agricultural sector. Improved access to deep-water facilities can also help strengthen supply continuity and provide greater resilience against disruptions.

The Greenock facility is expected to become operational later this year, adding capacity to Scotland’s feed logistics network and supporting the long-term efficiency and competitiveness of the agricultural supply chain.
