Saudi Arabia has strengthened its global logistics footprint with the completion of a €28 million acquisition of a Belgian air cargo handling operator, marking the country’s first overseas operational expansion. The investment expands its international network to 20 stations and establishes a strategic presence in one of Europe’s busiest air cargo gateways.
The acquisition provides direct access to a major European logistics hub that handles more than one million tonnes of cargo annually and serves as a key connection point for freight moving across Germany, the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, and other regional markets. The location’s 24/7 operations, advanced cargo facilities, and strong multimodal connectivity are expected to enhance the speed and reliability of international cargo flows.
The expanded operation strengthens capabilities across air cargo handling, warehouse logistics, specialist freight processing, and ground support services, including temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, perishables, automotive products, and other high-value shipments. The move also creates opportunities to improve connectivity between Saudi Arabia, Europe, and global trade corridors while supporting more efficient cross-border supply chains.
The overseas expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to develop its logistics sector, diversify revenue streams, and strengthen its position as a global logistics hub under Vision 2030. By expanding international operations and increasing access to key freight markets, the investment is expected to enhance supply chain resilience and support long-term growth in global air cargo logistics.
