The Philippines is emerging as one of the fastest growing markets for heavyweight express shipments in the Asia Pacific region, reflecting the country’s expanding role in manufacturing, sourcing, and regional supply networks.
From January to July 2026, the Philippines recorded strong growth in heavyweight shipments alongside India, Vietnam, Japan, and Hong Kong. The increase highlights growing demand for the rapid movement of critical components, equipment, and other high value goods across international supply chains.
Across the Asia Pacific region excluding China, heavyweight international shipments increased by 16 percent in daily weight during the first seven months of 2026. Businesses are increasingly using faster logistics services for larger shipments to support production schedules and maintain continuity across supply networks.
The Philippines is also receiving additional logistics infrastructure in Manila and Cebu to support rising shipment volumes. These developments can strengthen connections between local businesses, manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and international markets.
Technology related cargo accounts for more than 34 percent of heavyweight shipment volume, supported by increasing investment in data centers and demand for semiconductors, servers, cooling systems, and electrical infrastructure. Engineering, manufacturing, and automotive industries also represent significant portions of heavyweight logistics activity.
Automotive shipments recorded nearly 20 percent growth in shipment weight, supported by expanding electric vehicle production and the movement of vehicle components across international markets.
The growth in heavyweight logistics highlights the increasing importance of fast and reliable transportation within modern supply chains. As businesses expand manufacturing and sourcing activities across Asia, efficient movement of larger shipments can support production continuity, regional trade, and international market connections.
