in Energy

The global offshore energy sector is entering a new phase of expansion, with growing investment in offshore wind, floating technologies, subsea engineering and maritime infrastructure.

An international offshore energy conference scheduled for November 17 to 19, 2026, in Shanghai will bring together developers, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, investors and other industry stakeholders to explore emerging opportunities across the offshore energy value chain.

Offshore wind is expected to play an increasingly important role in the global energy transition, particularly across Europe and Asia. China remains a leading market, while Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and the Philippines are developing their offshore wind potential.

As projects move into deeper waters, demand is increasing for larger turbines, floating foundations, specialised vessels, subsea cables and advanced installation capabilities. This is creating new opportunities for manufacturers, suppliers and logistics providers across the international supply chain.

Floating offshore wind is also opening access to areas where traditional fixed structures are less suitable. Its development is driving innovation in floating foundations, mooring systems, dynamic cables and offshore installation solutions.

Digital technologies are further strengthening offshore operations. Artificial intelligence, digital twins, robotics and remote monitoring are being applied to predictive maintenance, asset management and offshore project optimisation.

The growing connection between offshore wind, subsea engineering, maritime services and conventional offshore expertise is also encouraging greater collaboration across industries. Equipment manufacturers, engineering contractors, vessel operators and service providers are increasingly working together to support complex offshore projects.

The upcoming event will also feature an exhibition and business matchmaking programme, providing opportunities for international stakeholders to explore partnerships, procurement activities and new market opportunities.

The developments highlight the growing importance of strong, connected and technology driven supply chains in supporting the next generation of offshore energy projects and expanding international cooperation across the renewable energy sector.
