Mongolia’s coal export revenue for 2024 reached $8.6 billion, according to the Customs General Administration. The total volume of coal exported was 83.7 million tons, marking a historic milestone as it is the first time exports have surpassed 80 million tons.
In comparison to the previous year, the volume of coal exported increased by over 20%. Initially, Mongolia had set a target to export 78 million tons of coal at an average price of $115 per ton. Although the volume target was exceeded, the average export price was approximately $103 per ton.
Additionally, the total export value of six key mineral products reached $13.2 billion, reflecting a 5% increase compared to 2023.
