Malaysia’s construction industry is accelerating digital transformation as artificial intelligence and 5D BIM technologies are introduced to improve quantity estimation and project planning.
A new AI-powered quantity takeoff solution was launched at a major construction technology event in Kuala Lumpur, bringing together nearly 1,000 industry participants from government, developers, consultants, contractors and academia.
The technology is designed to automate quantity takeoff processes, helping construction teams improve estimating accuracy, reduce manual work and make faster project decisions.
For the wider supply chain, better digital planning can improve material forecasting, procurement, inventory management and cost control, reducing waste and improving coordination across construction projects.
The development highlights Malaysia’s growing adoption of AI and digital tools to build more efficient, connected and resilient construction supply chains.
