Hesai Technology (Nasdaq: HSAI), a leader in lidar solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Westwell, a global provider of autonomous driving solutions. This collaboration aims to enhance global expansion in autonomous driving applications, particularly in logistics.
Under this partnership, Hesai’s advanced lidar technology will be integrated into Westwell’s autonomous driving solutions. These solutions will support over 200 corporate clients across 20 countries. The partnership is expected to improve supply chain productivity, efficiency, and quality, while also contributing to global carbon emissions reduction.
Hesai’s lidars are already part of Westwell’s autonomous driving vehicles, including the new Q-Trucks and Q-Tractors, which are used at Felixstowe Port in the United Kingdom and by Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (HACTL) in Hong Kong. These vehicles are also utilized in advanced manufacturing plants to enhance transport efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
Westwell employs a multi-sensor approach in its autonomous vehicles, incorporating Hesai’s XT32 and AT128 lidars to ensure precise operations. The XT32 mid-range lidar offers 5 mm range precision, providing high-quality data for accurate vehicle alignment and interaction. The technology is designed to withstand challenging conditions such as vibrations and salt corrosion.
In addition to logistics, Hesai’s lidar technology supports industrial robotics by delivering accurate distance, speed, and imaging data, aiding in positioning, obstacle avoidance, and navigation. Hesai’s lidars are also utilized in autonomous delivery robots, forklifts, and lawnmowers.
Hesai and Westwell have collaborated on lidar solutions since 2018. Their latest partnership aims to further enhance product performance and deliver reliable intelligent solutions to a global customer base.
