Lennox, a global provider of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) solutions, has announced a $6-million investment to expand its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Chennai, India. The expansion will increase the facility’s size to 150,000 square feet and grow the workforce from 900 to 1,500 employees.
The company stated that the investment will enhance its global operations by leveraging Chennai’s skilled workforce and business-friendly environment. The expanded facility will feature state-of-the-art amenities designed to foster innovation and employee well-being.
A Key Hub for Global Operations
Established in 2010, Lennox’s Chennai GCC has evolved into a strategic hub supporting various business functions, including IT, Engineering, Finance, Marketing Communications, HR, Legal, Customer Experience, and Sourcing. The company has invested a total of $14 million in India over the past 15 years as part of its long-term commitment to the region.
Prakash Bedapudi, Executive Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer, highlighted Chennai’s importance in Lennox’s global strategy. “Chennai remains a vital hub for our global operations. The city’s skilled workforce and dynamic business ecosystem align perfectly with our mission to drive technological advancements and deliver next-generation HVACR solutions,” he stated.
