Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chidobe Awuzie recently shared an amusing shopping anecdote involving teammate Joe Burrow, highlighting the quarterback’s notable fashion sense.
In a recent interview with former WWE commentator Renee Paquette, Awuzie discussed various topics, including team fashion, and acknowledged Burrow as the most fashionable player on the Cincinnati Bengals roster. According to Awuzie, Burrow’s fashion choices often attract national attention.
During the conversation, Awuzie pointed out Burrow’s distinctive Cartier shades and recounted a shopping trip they took together in Las Vegas, Nevada, during the summer when they attended UFC 267. Awuzie, a seasoned veteran, mentioned that while perusing a luxury goods store, an employee recommended a Cartier item that she claimed “this guy Joe Burrow” had made “very popular.” Unaware that she was addressing Burrow himself, the employee was surprised when he revealed his identity as the Bengals quarterback.
Awuzie humorously recalled the incident, stating, “The lady that was helping us pick out items was like, ‘There’s this guy, Joe Burrow, who made these ones very popular.’ Joe was like, ‘Yeah, I’m Joe Burrow.'”
The incident highlighted the varying degrees of recognition that Cincinnati Bengals players receive, even in places where the team is not as widely followed
