India’s project logistics sector is set for expanded capacity as a major investment programme targets infrastructure, heavy-lift transportation, bulk cargo and multimodal freight services over the coming years.
The investment will support the development of project logistics infrastructure, bulk and breakbulk cargo handling, technology-enabled logistics planning and operations across key industrial and port-linked corridors.
An initial phase will focus on expanding business-to-business project logistics services for industries including power, steel, petrochemicals, heavy engineering, manufacturing and large infrastructure projects.
The programme will also strengthen specialised transportation, port-to-plant logistics, vessel chartering and integrated multimodal solutions for oversized and critical cargo. These capabilities are designed to support the movement of complex industrial equipment and materials across major production and infrastructure projects.
The expansion will further enhance logistics connectivity between India and Gulf markets, supporting cross-border industrial cargo movement and strengthening regional distribution networks.
