India’s e-commerce sector is expanding its logistics capacity ahead of the festive season, with more than 160,000 seasonal work opportunities being created across the country.
The additional workforce will support key supply chain activities including fulfilment, sorting, packing, shipping, and last-mile delivery. Opportunities are being introduced across approximately 400 cities, helping strengthen delivery operations during one of the country’s busiest retail periods.
India’s fulfilment network includes more than 60 dedicated fulfilment centres, covering over 10 million square feet of space, alongside thousands of delivery stations and logistics partners. The expanded workforce will help manage higher order volumes while supporting faster and more reliable deliveries.
The seasonal expansion also includes opportunities for women and persons with disabilities, contributing to a more inclusive logistics workforce.
The initiative highlights how workforce planning, fulfilment infrastructure, and last-mile capacity play an important role in preparing supply chains for major demand increases. Strengthening these areas can help businesses maintain efficient order processing and delivery performance throughout peak retail periods.
