China is rapidly expanding its role in the global humanoid robotics supply chain, supported by a strong manufacturing base, localized component production and a large domestic market for real-world applications.
Global humanoid robot shipments reached approximately 19,100 units in the first half of 2026, representing a 272% increase year over year. Chinese manufacturers accounted for more than 97% of global shipments, while China represented more than 85% of global demand.
A major strength of China’s robotics ecosystem is its integrated supply chain. More than 90% of key components used by some domestic manufacturers are sourced locally, including critical systems such as reducers, servo systems and sensors. This extensive supplier network supports faster production, delivery and product development.
The country’s large industrial market also provides extensive testing and deployment opportunities. Humanoid and other advanced robots are increasingly being applied across electronics manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, automotive production and commercial services. These applications allow manufacturers to refine technologies while building production expertise at scale.
China’s robotics industry is also strengthening its international reach. Industrial robot exports reached 6.29 billion yuan in the first half of 2026, covering 141 countries and regions, while overall robot exports increased 359% year over year. The growing export activity highlights the country’s expanding role in global automation and technology supply chains.
Government support, dedicated industry classifications, specialized export tariff codes and programs for real-world humanoid robot training are further contributing to the development of the sector.
With manufacturing capacity, component localization, AI capabilities and diverse application scenarios developing together, China is positioning humanoid robotics as an important part of its advanced manufacturing and global supply chain strategy.
