Reposite, an event-planning platform founded in 2020, announced a significant partnership with ConferenceDirect, a prominent meeting-management and sourcing company, on January 8. This collaboration marks a substantial achievement for Reposite, which specializes in streamlining the process of sending Requests for Proposals (RFPs), as well as enhancing communication and payment processes with event suppliers. The platform primarily focuses on a supplier marketplace catering to group services beyond hotels and convention centers.
This includes transportation, restaurants, entertainment, team-building activities, and décor, offering a comprehensive suite of services for event planning. ConferenceDirect associates will continue utilizing Cvent’s tools for hotel sourcing, while Reposite’s platform will be employed for other supplier needs. Larry Hanson, the Chief Marketing & Sustainability Officer at ConferenceDirect, confirmed this integrated approach. Since its inception, Reposite has achieved several milestones. Its co-founders, Heather Stupi, Alexa Berube, and Jaime Getto, were recognized in Forbes 30 Under 30 in the enterprise-technology category in 2021.
Although Getto has since departed from the company, the startup has continued to grow. Initially launched with approximately $2.5 million in seed funding, Reposite secured an additional $7.5 million investment in September 2022. Furthermore, the company is raising its profile in the events industry through a partnership with the MPI Academy, the educational arm of Meeting Professionals International. They are collaborating on a new A.I. certificate course set to launch in late January. Reposite offers its tools to planners on a paid subscription basis, as detailed by Berube.
Suppliers can utilize the system by paying commissions and fees for bookings or by opting for a subscription fee to become a Reposite member. This partnership with ConferenceDirect represents a significant step for Reposite in expanding its reach and capabilities within the event-planning industry.
