Accenture has announced the acquisition of MNEMO Mexico, a company that specializes in managed cybersecurity services. The exact financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.
MNEMO Mexico, headquartered in Mexico City since its inception in 2012, has a roster of 229 cybersecurity professionals. They possess a combined total of 180 industry certifications with major ecosystem partners. The company provides advanced cyber defense and response services, a cyber intelligence platform supported by generative AI, and a round-the-clock security operations center. They have served a diverse clientele, including sectors like telecommunications, banking, and insurance.
Paolo Dal Cin, the global head of Accenture Security, commented on the acquisition, highlighting that the expertise and client base of MNEMO Mexico will complement Accenture’s current capabilities. He further added that the merger will assist in expanding Accenture’s business in the regions of Mexico and Latin America, while also supporting its operations in North America.
Upon completion of the acquisition, the cybersecurity professionals from MNEMO Mexico will be integrated into Accenture Security, which has a global team of more than 19,500 professionals. This addition is expected to augment Accenture’s resources in Mexico and Latin America, catering to the increasing demand for managed security services in these areas.
Julian Garrido, the General Director of MNEMO Mexico, emphasized the importance of robust cybersecurity in today’s digital landscape. He expressed enthusiasm for the MNEMO team’s future collaboration with Accenture Security to enhance cybersecurity across various industries.
A joint study by the World Economic Forum’s Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2023 and Accenture revealed that talent recruitment and retention in cybersecurity remain significant challenges. The report found that a substantial portion of respondents felt they lacked the necessary skills to counter cyberattacks effectively.
Andre Fleury, who oversees Accenture Security in Latin America, welcomed the MNEMO Mexico team. He praised their cybersecurity capabilities and believes that their inclusion will greatly benefit Accenture’s clientele.
Accenture’s commitment to providing managed security services is evident from its top rank in terms of market share by revenue, as reported by Gartner in April 2023. Accenture Security has made several acquisitions since 2015 to enhance its service offerings, with MNEMO Mexico being the latest addition.
