Colombia’s logistics infrastructure has demonstrated operational resilience following the August 10, 2026 earthquake, with a major logistics park in the country confirming the safety of employees and tenant personnel and the continued operation of its facilities.

The logistics facility, located in the Calle 80 area, reported no structural damage and maintained operations following the earthquake. Its infrastructure was developed according to applicable seismic standards, supporting continuity across warehouse and distribution activities.

The quick return to normal operations highlights the value of resilient logistics facilities designed to maintain business continuity during unexpected events. Safety measures, infrastructure standards, insurance coverage, and operational preparedness all contribute to stronger supply chain resilience.

Colombia continues to play an important role in Latin American logistics, supported by strategically located distribution facilities serving regional businesses and international supply chains.

The experience also reinforces the importance of incorporating resilience into logistics infrastructure planning, including appropriate building standards, emergency preparedness, facility protection, and continuity strategies.

As supply chains become increasingly interconnected, investment in well-prepared logistics facilities can help businesses maintain the movement and distribution of goods while supporting long-term trade and economic activity.
