China–Germany Logistics Corridor Strengthens Multimodal Trade Connectivity

in Logistics & Transportation

China and Germany are seeing continued development across rail, sea, air, and fulfillment networks as trade flows become more integrated and compliance requirements evolve.

China–Europe rail freight has expanded strongly, while Germany remains a major destination for China–Europe rail cargo. Duisburg also continues to serve as an important European gateway for rail freight moving between Asia and Europe.

European Logistics Enters H2 2026 With Flexibility as the New Competitive Advantage

Changing e-commerce rules are increasing the importance of customs clearance, VAT management, fulfillment, and last-mile distribution. With low-value import requirements becoming stricter, businesses are increasingly looking for logistics solutions that combine transportation with compliance and distribution services.

The corridor is also becoming more multimodal. Shippers can increasingly combine rail for speed and reliability, ocean freight for cost efficiency, and air freight for time-sensitive shipments, giving businesses greater flexibility when managing changing demand and transportation conditions.

The competitive landscape includes both global logistics networks and China-based providers, with different strengths across express delivery, rail freight, ocean and air cargo, customs services, warehousing, and e-commerce fulfillment.

As trade requirements become more complex, end-to-end logistics integration and multimodal flexibility are becoming key advantages for businesses moving goods between China and Germany.
