MANILA, Philippines — BDO Unibank Inc. has announced that it will provide financing for Mober, a company focused on green logistics, to support the acquisition of 60 electric vehicle (EV) trucks. This investment aims to help Mober expand its operations and further contribute to the shift towards a more sustainable logistics industry.
Charles Rodriguez, executive vice president and head of BDO’s Institutional Banking Group, stated that the bank’s support underscores its commitment to sustainability and its role in advancing green technologies. “We are dedicated to supporting businesses that are transitioning to greener practices. By backing initiatives like electric mobility and green logistics, we aim to contribute to a more sustainable economy,” Rodriguez said.
Mober’s CEO, Dennis Ng, expressed that the financing would help the company expand its fleet, furthering its efforts to build a more sustainable logistics sector in the Philippines.
As part of its commitment to sustainable logistics, Mober recently launched Central Charge, a new electric vehicle charging hub located in Pasay. This facility is currently the largest commercial EV charging station in the country, offering 56 charging ports and the ability to charge up to 200 EV trucks daily. The hub is strategically located near Metro Manila’s key commercial areas and aims to improve delivery efficiency for major clients, including Ikea, SM Appliances, Nestlé Philippines, and Maersk.
BDO’s financing initiative is part of the bank’s broader efforts to support renewable energy and environmentally friendly projects. The bank hopes its actions will encourage other businesses and financial institutions to adopt sustainable practices.
With a nationwide network of over 1,700 branches and more than 5,800 ATMs, BDO is the largest bank in the Philippines. It also has 16 international offices, including branches in Hong Kong and Singapore.
