Logistics Robots Market Set to Surge Toward $91 Billion by 2035

in Automation & Robotics

The global logistics robotics market is entering a major growth phase as warehouses and distribution centers increasingly turn to automation to improve speed, efficiency and resilience.

The market was valued at approximately US$17.8 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach US$20.7 billion in 2026, before expanding to an estimated US$91.4 billion by 2035. That represents a projected compound annual growth rate of 17.9%. Robot shipments are also expected to rise from around 140,000 units in 2025 to more than 500,000 by 2035.

The expansion reflects a fundamental shift in how logistics operations approach automation. Robots are increasingly being treated as core warehouse infrastructure rather than experimental technology, with operators prioritizing systems that can integrate with existing facilities and deliver measurable improvements in throughput and productivity.

Several forces are accelerating adoption. Growing e-commerce volumes and shorter delivery windows are increasing pressure on warehouses to process more orders and product lines with greater accuracy. At the same time, labor shortages and rising workforce costs are encouraging companies to automate repetitive and physically demanding tasks.

Technology is also making robotics more adaptable. Advances in artificial intelligence, computer vision and autonomous navigation allow modern robots to operate in increasingly dynamic warehouse environments. Robotics-as-a-service models are further lowering the entry barrier by allowing companies to deploy automation with less upfront investment.

Autonomous mobile robots are emerging as one of the fastest-growing segments, offering greater flexibility than traditional fixed-path automated guided vehicles. Robotic arms also remain important for applications such as palletizing, depalletizing and case picking, where precision and repeatability are critical.

Asia-Pacific remains the leading market, supported by large-scale manufacturing, expanding e-commerce and strong investment in warehouse automation. North America is also seeing rapid adoption as companies respond to high labor costs and growing fulfillment demands, while European operators are increasingly driven by safety, traceability and sustainability requirements.

Despite the growth outlook, challenges remain. High initial investment, integration with legacy warehouse systems and facility limitations can make automation difficult, particularly for smaller and mid-sized operators. Retrofitting existing facilities is therefore expected to become an increasingly important opportunity.

The next stage of logistics robotics is likely to focus on connected ecosystems rather than isolated machines. AI-powered fleet management, predictive maintenance, real-time inventory visibility and warehouse execution systems can increasingly work together to create more responsive operations.

The broader trend is clear: logistics is moving toward a hybrid operating model where robots handle repetitive, high-volume activities while people focus on decision-making, exceptions and higher-value tasks.

With the market potentially reaching US$91.4 billion by 2035, robotics is becoming more than an automation trend—it is increasingly shaping the future architecture of global supply chains.
