Trade economist and founder of the Global Trade Institute to drive trade education, SME empowerment, and cross-border collaboration in the Delhi region
SINGAPORE / DELHI, INDIA — The International Trade Council (ITC) has officially announced the appointment of Dhriti Mukherjee Pipil as the Chapter Leader for Delhi, India. In this role, Ms. Pipil will oversee the Council’s initiatives within the region, working to foster local business growth, enhance trade education, and establish stronger networks between Delhi-based enterprises and the global market.
With 19 years of dedicated experience in international trade, Ms Pipil brings a wealth of expertise as a researcher, trade economist, and educational leader. Her appointment represents a strategic step forward for the ITC in Northern India, providing local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), academic institutions, and trade professionals with structured access to global trade resources, policy insights, and collaborative platforms.
Under Ms Pipil’s leadership, the Delhi chapter will focus on bridging the gap between trade theory and practical business application. By leveraging her extensive background in export awareness and trade education, the chapter aims to equip local businesses with the knowledge and tools required to navigate complex international regulatory environments and expand their global footprints.

About Dhriti Mukherjee Pipil
Dhriti Mukherjee Pipil is an international trade economist, researcher, author, and former banker with over a decade of experience in trade finance and international banking. She is the Founder of the Global Trade Institute, an initiative dedicated to promoting trade education, capacity building, and international business awareness among students, professionals, and entrepreneurs. Her research focuses on agricultural trade policy, export restrictions, food security, and global supply chains. She has published in The Indian Economic Journal, Economic and Political Weekly (EPW), The Hindu BusinessLine, and Down To Earth. Her views on trade and economic issues have been quoted by leading media platforms, including TASS and Republic World. She has spoken at several national and international forums, including events organised by The Economist, and currently serves as an Economic Advisory Board Member at the Economic Transformation Council. She specialises in bridging academic research and industry practice, with particular expertise in trade policy, export finance, and global market dynamics.
