Shreekant Patil: Visionary Entrepreneur and Mentor

Shreekant Patil’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2004 with the founding of PARENTNashik, a company specializing in robotic welding consumables and parts. Over the years, his vision expanded beyond just business ventures to creating a supportive ecosystem for startups and MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) in Nashik and beyond.

Patil has been a key figure in various government initiatives such as BHASKAR, MAARG, and Startup India, playing a pivotal role as a mentor for aspiring entrepreneurs. His involvement with programs like MeitY Startup Hub and STPI has helped numerous startups navigate the complexities of government subsidies, financial support, and digital transformation. Patil’s influence is not confined to India alone, as his work extends to countries including the UAE, the USA, Singapore, and Europe, helping startups scale globally through strategic advice on business development and export strategies.

Building a Robust Startup Ecosystem in Nashik and Maharashtra

In 2022, Shreekant Patil took concrete steps toward strengthening the startup ecosystem in Nashik and Maharashtra. His work has been instrumental in fostering collaborations between emerging startups, educational institutions, industry leaders, and government bodies. By engaging with local colleges and universities, Patil has introduced an entrepreneurial mindset among students, encouraging them to explore startup ventures. His partnerships with organizations like NIMA (Nashik Industries Manufacturers Association) and MACCIA (Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture) have accelerated the growth of startups across the region.

As chairman of the NIMA Startup Hub, Patil helped launch over 120 startups in just two years, supporting them with seed funding, government subsidies, and expert mentorship. These efforts have provided emerging businesses with the necessary resources to scale and thrive.

Empowering MSMEs and Women Entrepreneurs

Patil’s mentorship focuses heavily on inclusivity, with a strong emphasis on supporting MSMEs and women entrepreneurs. Through programs like Stand-Up India, Udyami Mitra, and Assist Stand-Up India (SUI), he has provided marginalized groups—particularly women and SC/ST entrepreneurs—with the resources and guidance to grow their businesses.

He has been a staunch advocate for gender equality in business, directly assisting women-led startups in accessing funding and navigating business development challenges. His role as a Customer Credit Counselor at SIDBI has enabled over 100 women in Nashik to secure government loans and subsidies, contributing to their success in establishing and expanding their businesses.

In addition, Patil’s efforts to drive digital transformation have been pivotal for MSMEs, helping them embrace digital marketing and e-commerce to expand their reach. He has also played a key role in connecting local MSMEs with trade promotion councils like EEPC, SEPC, and APEDA, which has opened doors for them to access global markets.

Building Infrastructure for Entrepreneurial Growth

Patil’s influence extends beyond mentorship to the creation of essential infrastructure for startup growth. His collaborations with over 50 colleges across Maharashtra have led to the establishment of incubation centers, innovation councils, and faculty development programs. These initiatives provide students and faculty with the tools and resources to foster entrepreneurial growth directly within educational institutions.

His involvement with government initiatives, such as Skill India and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), further showcases his commitment to developing a skilled workforce. Patil has also supported the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in Maharashtra, integrating entrepreneurship into academic curricula to better equip students for future ventures.

Leadership and Recognition

Shreekant Patil has earned recognition for his efforts to enhance the startup ecosystem. As the chairman of the Startup Committee at NIMA, he has been instrumental in the growth of Nashik’s entrepreneurial sector. His leadership roles with organizations such as the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the International Business Startup Entrepreneurs Association (IBSEA) underscore his dedication to advancing innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.

In addition to his mentorship and leadership roles, Patil’s global influence has been recognized through his appointment as a Sustainability Ambassador for UN SDGs. He has played a pivotal role in promoting sustainable business practices among startups, aligning his efforts with global trade initiatives and collaborations with organizations such as the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) and the World Economic Forum (WEF).

A Legacy of Empowerment and Innovation

Shreekant Patil’s journey highlights the transformative power of mentorship, perseverance, and innovation in building a thriving startup ecosystem. His contributions to supporting MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, and fostering digital transformation have been essential in driving Nashik and Maharashtra’s entrepreneurial success.

Patil’s work is a testament to the belief that one individual’s dedication can have a far-reaching impact, creating an ecosystem where innovation thrives and entrepreneurship flourishes. His commitment to India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and Viksit Bharat (Developed India) underscores his role as a key catalyst in the region’s entrepreneurial landscape, helping turn the dreams of aspiring business owners into reality.
