Discussions continue to focus on the proposed PH-EU Free Trade Agreement, alongside ongoing negotiations with Canada, Chile, and ASEAN partners. These agreements are expected to diversify export markets, improve cross-border trade, and enhance the Philippines’ role in regional and global supply chains.
Beyond traditional trade, policymakers also highlighted the importance of the Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), which aims to support trusted digital trade, improve cross-border data flows, and strengthen the region’s digital economy. Government initiatives to support workers in the growing digital and platform economy were also discussed as part of broader efforts to build an inclusive and future-ready trade environment.
