The Philippines is positioning itself for a larger role in global technology supply chains through a proposed critical technology hub in New Clark City.
The project, linked to the Pax Silica initiative, is expected to focus on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and rare earth elements while attracting significant investment and creating up to 200,000 jobs.
The development could strengthen the Philippines’ position as a regional technology and manufacturing hub, while improving supply-chain security and attracting new opportunities in advanced industries.
The initiative also highlights the Philippines’ growing importance in friend-shoring, technology manufacturing, and critical-mineral supply chains as companies and governments seek more diversified production networks.
