The United States is strengthening its aerospace supply chain through a major acquisition focused on bringing precision component manufacturing closer to aircraft engine production.
The $11.75 billion transaction will bring a leading precision castings manufacturer with more than 20 facilities and approximately 6,600 employees into an aerospace manufacturing group. The move is designed to expand access to critical components, improve production coordination, and strengthen manufacturing capacity.
Precision castings are essential for aircraft engines and other advanced aerospace systems. By integrating this capability more closely with engine manufacturing, the sector can improve supply availability, production planning, quality control, and responsiveness to growing demand from commercial aviation and defense markets.
The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. It highlights the growing importance of vertical integration and resilient sourcing strategies in aerospace, particularly as manufacturers seek greater control over specialized components and production capacity.
