Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has expanded its international transport network by inaugurating its first offices in Saudi Arabia. The new locations in Riyadh and Jeddah mark the company’s strategic growth within the economic Central and West Provinces of the country.
The expansion into Saudi Arabia is driven by the nation’s rapidly growing economy and its strategic position as a central gateway to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Europe, Asia, and Africa. This makes Saudi Arabia an ideal hub for distribution to these regions.
Allan Melgaard, Global CEO for SGL, stated that establishing a presence in Saudi Arabia allows the company to better control its service offerings to both local and global customers. He emphasized the importance of Saudi Arabia as a major player in international trade and its significant investments in infrastructure projects aimed at diversifying the economy beyond oil.
The new Managing Director for Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Afifi, expressed his enthusiasm for leading the team in Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the careful selection of a team of highly skilled logistics experts with a deep understanding of the local culture and business practices, which he believes will provide a competitive advantage in the Saudi market.
The new offices are expected to start with 20-25 employees in the first year, with plans to grow to 50 employees in the second year.
This development underscores SGL’s commitment to uncomplicating the world of logistics for its customers.
