In a significant development for North America’s supply chain and logistics landscape, a large U.S. freight brokerage and technology-enabled 3PL has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Reno, Nevada-based ITS Logistics, a fast-growing third-party logistics provider. The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of 2026, pending customary regulatory and closing approvals.
Once completed, the combined entity will have pro forma revenue of about US $5.4 billion for 2025, creating one of the largest integrated logistics platforms in North America. The deal brings together Echo’s extensive freight brokerage and managed transportation services with ITS’s strengths in freight brokerage, drayage, intermodal services, dedicated fleets, distribution and fulfillment.
Both companies emphasise that the acquisition will enhance service capabilities for shippers navigating increasingly complex supply chain environments. Echo’s advanced technology platform — including automation, machine learning and AI-driven tools — is expected to augment ITS’s existing solution set, helping improve network optimisation, real-time insight and responsiveness across multimodal operations.
Despite the ownership change, ITS Logistics will continue to operate under its current leadership team and maintain its customer-facing structure, preserving continuity for clients and staff while benefiting from increased scale and combined expertise.
This move highlights how consolidation and technology integration continue to shape the 3PL and transportation management sector, with carriers and logistics providers seeking scale and digital capabilities to support supply chain reliability and customer service excellence.
