Flegrei is a crowded volcanic area in Italy that often experiences earthquakes and ground movement, such as sinking and rising land. Recently, the ground has been rising at rates of up to 2 centimeters each month, with more than 9,000 earthquakes recorded. To better understand these risks, local authorities hired experts to study the situation. They looked into predicting earthquakes, mapping faults, and analyzing how the ground moves.
