Africa’s supply chain continues to face significant challenges, including low profit margins, a substantial demand-supply gap, fragmentation, and high logistics costs. In response to these issues, innovative ventures like Supplya are emerging to bridge the gaps left by traditional solutions.
Founded three years ago, Supplya aims to assist retailers and retail stores in efficiently sourcing and selling products. The company leverages existing logistics solutions and unconventional operational approaches to enhance delivery and management processes.
On August 16, 2024, Supplya celebrates its commitment to addressing the challenges faced by African businesses, particularly those stemming from an ineffective and costly supply chain. “Our mission remains providing the stakeholders of Africa’s supply chain with the digital tools they need to navigate their business landscape effectively,” stated Opeyemi Kehinde, Cofounder and CEO of Supplya.
In conjunction with its anniversary, Supplya has launched a new retailer-friendly mobile app designed for faster product sourcing, featuring a simple interface and seamless functionalities. This new app will complement the revamped web application, which offers enhanced capabilities for both vendors and customers.
In recognition of its efforts, Supplya recently won the Pitch Perfect Competition held in July during the Elevate Conference 3.0, organized by Termii, a startup that supports the communications infrastructure for over 16,000 businesses across Africa. This milestone underscores Supplya’s ongoing commitment to driving growth and efficiency within the region’s supply chain.
