Osman Gani Tuhin – Board Member of the Business Council for Legal.

Meet Osman Gani Tuhin, an esteemed legal expert and a Board Member of the Business Council for Legal within the International Trade Council. With a wealth of experience and a commitment to the legal industry, he is a standout professional in the fields of international trade, supply chains, and compliance.

As the Founder of Tuhin & Partners, Osman Gani Tuhin leads a consultancy firm specializing in corporate legal, tax, and compliance matters. His journey into this industry was inspired by a desire to understand the essential role of legal compliance in the business world. Starting as a BBA student, he recognized the significance of business compliance for success and embarked on a legal career to pursue this passion.

Osman’s educational background is impressive, with ongoing studies to become a Chartered Secretary at the Institute of Chartered Secretary of Bangladesh (ICSB), a Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Management, and qualifications including an LL.M. and LL.B. (Hons) from Southeast University.

Throughout his career, Osman has played a pivotal role in numerous key projects, offering valuable counsel to both local and foreign investors on navigating the complexities of doing business in Bangladesh. His expertise extends to regulatory approvals, permits, and license applications, crucial elements in establishing and operating businesses in the region.

One of Osman’s proudest accomplishments is being an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, a testament to his legal prowess and dedication to upholding justice.

The legal industry in Bangladesh has evolved significantly since Osman’s entry in 2013. He has witnessed transformative changes in technological adoption, with a growing need for digital tools, electronic case management systems, and online filing processes to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Looking ahead, Osman envisions the legal industry embracing technological advancements, legal innovation, specialization in niche practice areas, international collaborations, and a heightened focus on corporate governance and compliance in the next 5-10 years. He is particularly excited about the potential of Law Practice Management SaaS and Research Intel SaaS to revolutionize the legal profession.

For those starting in the industry, Osman offers sage advice, emphasizing the importance of a strong educational foundation, practical experience, specialization, networking, communication skills, technological literacy, and ethical conduct.

When faced with setbacks and challenges, Osman’s approach includes maintaining a positive mindset, analyzing and learning from setbacks, seeking support, breaking down issues, self-care, seeking feedback, and embracing a growth mindset.

Outside his professional life, Osman is an animal lover, dedicating time to his pets. He also indulges in hobbies such as gardening, traveling, mountaineering, and bonsai, showcasing a well-rounded personality with diverse interests.
